Thread: How do your ORIGINAL M715 troop seats look when folded down?

Default How do your ORIGINAL M715 troop seats look when folded down?

    Hey Zoners,
I'm having my friend make a set of troop seats for my M715 (from a set of M35's), and now that the seats are installed (when folded down) they slant down a tick. They don't look horrible, but I'm thinking that I would rather they slant up instead (to make them easier to sit in).

For you guys with original M715 troop seats: 1) How long are the three legs that fold down? I've read all of the threads I can find on here, and I even gave him the measurements from those threads ... (I'm thinking I might have my buddy extend the existing legs a bit.) And 2) How do they look when they are folded down (ready to sit on) ... are they level or do they slant (up/down)?

Thanks, guys. I'll have to post some pics in a few days. The old girl is really looking nice ...

It might be that it's not the fold down legs that are too short but that the side posts are too high. M35 side posts are an inch or two too high compared to M715 side posts.

The seats should be level when folded down.

Although mine are not in the truck yet, I remember them as in the picture above, slightly up.

They look slightly slanted here too.

What did you do to your 715 today?

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I think I am going to have mine slant up as well. My buddy has already cut down the side posts so that they fit correctly into the bed, but the fold down legs are still a little bit short ...

I don't have pictures of troops sitting on my troops seats. But do in-laws count? I have a tough time choosing my 10 "favorite" in-laws to load in the back.....
