Default m715 thrill ride / stuck carb shaft

it was gonna be a big weekend at the dunes here so i mounted the "for sale" signs and headed to the main entrance to sit for a few hours for some exposure. in three hours several guys stopped and gawked... wife called and announced dinner time, so off i head for home, after turning on my road the throttle stuck wide open so i stopped released it and took off it stuck again... being i only had 4 miles to go, it was run it up to 55 shut off switch coast to 20mph and turm back on switch ... second time i switched on the muffler blew...

the stock linkage hangs way out from the carb and puts quite a side load on the carb shaft possibly enlarging the hole it or egging it out anybody had this problem??

any easy fixes short of a new carb?

If it is like u think I would try and sleeve it with some brass bushings, drill the carb our a little and press the sleeves in. This is just an idea without actually looking at one to see If it's possible.

Make sure ur foot is hitting the floor before the carb runs out of travel. Using the carb as a stop can lead to trouble.
