    Default flat spot on the rig crank....

    i have a flat spot on my crang ring gear any ideas how to cure this ... been told drop engine out and take fly wheel off...... heat up ring and move it round.. but will it still throw the starter out as it did b4..... i have a spare fly wheel so think it may be best just to swap...

    any advise....

    I was told you can turn around the ring.

    You also can buy NOS rings, too.

    You might want to check with AB Linn in Salisbury, NC. I believe they had ring gears and/or complete NOS flywheels for sale on eBay recently. A new flywheel would surely fix that problem.

    got two spare engines ... but not able to get the fly wheel off the spare engine so any one know how to get it off with out taking crank out.....
