We've tried, but getting anyone to actually commit is the trick.

I am all for it if there is some true interest.

Same here for parades. I called dozens of truck owners of all stripes and can't get parade commitments for any holiday or event. In SE Pennsylvania, they have to turn people away for parades. Can't figure it out.

Biggest problem I've had, is that 15 people will say yes, then one at a time over the ensuing weeks they will cancel off. I've tried doing it 6 months in advance, 6 weeks in advance, and 6 days in advance. It makes no difference.

I know things can change, but honestly, if there is a chance I won't make an event, I won't commit to it.

Every year I keep several things on my calendar like Aberdeen, and a few other shows mostly motorcycle related. I don't plan anything else those weekends. I had four other folks who said they wanted to go with me to Aberdeen last week on Saturday. I even offered them a ride for free from their doorstep 3 months in advance. I ended up going alone.
