Thread: Prices on GSA... crazy?

    Default Prices on GSA... crazy?

Saw a couple posts of trucks on GSA and then I decided to check bidding history on GSA.

    I typed:

    m715 site:gsaauctions.gov

Into Google and it came up with one of the current ones and a bunch of old ones.

Mostly they sell for $2000-2500 but there are a few there that have no front axle or doors, etc and are still almost selling for $2000. That seems like a TON to me for some of those trucks?

Yeah, I would agree 67M715. I remember seeing one for sale without a front axle down in NY or PA that I thought I wouldn't mind picking up for parts but it went for $2000 so I couldn't justify the expense.

    i over paid for mine.

sometimes having it now is worth a few hundred. Personally I get tired of looking for a great deal, and just buy whats there.

Now if I already have one of what ever im looking for then ya I wait for a deal. I know should I buy another M715 it will be cause its at least a fair price if not a good deal.

If they sell, then that's what their worth, I guess. $2500 is an average for these trucks as-is now. Some go higher in better condition, some lower.

All I wan't is a brand new one stored in a cave in Norway for $500.00 plus shipping. Am I asking too much?

While I guess having a new untouched truck has it's advantages, I still like mine that has some character and patina to it. I seem to think that the frame off restorations are for old muscle cars and trucks. I like when kids ask me if it's a REAL Army truck, and I can answer, "Yes son, it is." Of course, these are just my opinions. Everyone has their own thoughts on how to manage their own truck.
