Can sombody get me dimentions on A gas tank?

Im probably going to be making my gas tank. But im not sure on there exact location in the truck (cause mine doesent have one).

If I could get some dimentions and pics that would definatly help

Check the for sale section. BlessedM715 is selling repro tanks. Buy one from him or get the dimensions from him (I would buy it since he's done all the hard work already).

OK, here are pictures and dimensions from a rusty stock tank:

Length 26"
Height 15 5/8"
Width 17 5/8"

Filler neck diameter 3"
Filler neck length 3 1/16"

This is the passenger side of the tank:



This is the driver side of the tank showing the fill neck:



Here is the bottom. As you can see, the drain plug has been welded up since there was damage to the tank. There is also another hole that was soldered up.



And the top of the tank. Again, holes soldered up and all but one screw for the sender unit broken off. Any doubt why I was not putting this thing back under my truck?



And this is what the carburetor looked like. Yes, there was a filter in the line! I was not going to deal with this. So, I bit the bullet and got one from Mike.

Certainly you are welcome. I have to mention that unless these tanks were in constant use and had good maintenance like draining the condensation, they are often very rusty inside. I don't have a lot of money but seem to have even less patience. So that is the reason I got Mike to make a new tank. I guess the regular steel one would last as long as I will be around. But I just liked the stainless tank.

This is what my sending unit looked like. It is a replacement and I can only imagine what the inside of the tank looked like!
