hey guys. now that i have my truck i've decided to do a tribute to my dad who was in the marine corps & who passed in 09. i've been looking for pics of a truck done up in marine corp. garb. i would love to see a truck done in the correct color & with the correct markings. if any of u have some pics, i'd love to see them for reference. thanks in advance.

thanks fellas. that is exactly what i needed. are the markings supposed to be in yellow or was that done for more contrast? also, how does the marine corp green differ from the army's green?

the truck posted above is from a site owned by a member here that does decals and the like for our trucks his tag is Beast and this is the link to his site http://www.i2k.com/~schwarzd/ he will prolly chime in here soon but the yellow lettering was done only by the USMCand the same goes for the green every branch has there own way of doing things. The truck shown above is the best example I have seen of a USMC M715. It sounds like a very worthy build please keep us all posted on your progress.

Yes, the USMC used yellow for marking on thier vehicles from WWII until the advent of subdued camo vehicles in the mid-late 70's. The proper color for single color USMC vehicles with yellow markings is Forest Green #24052 and is available through most all military vehicle paint suppliers such as Rapco or Army Jeep Parts. Also note that USMC trucks do not carry the national symbol (white star) on them.

P.S. the truck in those pics is actually Gunny Porkchops.

Porkchop, Binford and myself all have USMC green trucks with the proper markings. Between us, there are probably several hundred photos here on the Zone of the trucks. Look at the 2007 TXFE, 2008 Colorado Fe threads for several of them together with lots of pictures.
