    Default Carb Work

    Carb work

Mechanic said too much gas going into the card, so he readjusted the float. Now slow acceleration and back fires when turned off.

If Iam wrong some one please correct me but it sounds to me like it is out of time.
I should ask how it ran before the mechanic adjusted the float.

Sorry it took so long to reply back. I would start with checking the dwell on the points then the timing just to make sure they are set right. If these are out it can make it run bad. The accelerator pump in the cab if it is bad could make it not want to rev up by not giving it the needed gas. I would also check for vacuum leaks.
I hope this helps you out.

If your line to the wipers (vacuum) is open/cut it will affect performance also. You can check vacuum hoses by pinching them gently with pliers. If nothing changes, most likely it isn't a problem. But if the idle changes, you may have a leak...

What did mechanic say when you took it back to him to correct his repair?
