Thread: Its cold!

    Default Its cold!

I just got my M715 delivered to Central New York two weeks ago. It is sitting at the mechanics now to have a look. I told him I would do some research on a heater, found some original parts on Ebay. What is the best way to get warmth taking into consideration trying to keep things as close to stock look as possible? I'm keeping it a 24v system. Thanks in advance.

Coot, I moved your post from "Wanted" to the "Stock" forum to start a new thread. You will likely get a better response here.

Regular old FSJ (Full-Sized Jeep) heaters are what the M715s used. You'd only have to replace the blower motor with a 24V version and the defroster ducts would be different due to the vertical windshields.

Here you go. One set of defroster ducts and one blower motor. This is what I used and they fit perfectly. Welcome to the group!
    Thanks for all the help!

Kyken, what a help you are. You couldn't have made it any easier for the person. Nice work in running down the needed parts. Hope he doesn't hesitate and let the items slip away. If I needed the parts, I'd be all over this. The prices seem very reasonable also. Good job.

Here's another way of doing it too:

This was using an M151 heater, and mounting it under the hood where the battery tray is on a civvy truck. It works well here in VA, even in the coldest times. It also is 24V out of the box.

That's a pretty cool setup Randy. Also neatly installed.
