    Default Heater question

Does anyone know where I need to splice the heater into the wiring system? Also where can I find the weather stripping for the doors? And lastly does anyone know where I can find a replacment steering wheel?

I got my door weather striping from surplus city jeep parts in oroville CA.They also had the upper cab weather striping that sealed the door glass and the horn bezel with the rubber seal. That was a long time ago but it's worth a try.

Under the dash, on the on/off side of the steering wheel if I remember right, is a wire that was not used on most stock trucks. It is for the heater assembly OR for the spotlight on those few trucks that had one. If I am wrong or if it has been moved, it could be on the door side of the steering wheel...
This wire has the male waterproof end on it and is labeled as wire #85 on the little metal tag.

WARNING: If you have never reached up under there and found this wire, it is ALWAYS live, even when the on/off switch is off...unswitched in electrical terminology. Be careful reaching up there and get it by the outside for sure and hopefully when not in contact with all the metal up under there.

I found mine a few weeks after I got my truck by mistake...I was looking up under there for a place to mount something and moved that wire...there was an insulation break at one point and I found out it was live at that time...24 volts is definitely spicy hot!!

So tap into that for a heater...thats why it is there.

If you got a heater and a spotlight like the M726 (), you need a 'Y' connector on it.

I have several extra steering wheels, but I do not know their condition at this time. They are stored not at my place for now. Ask in the springtime.
