Thread: What am I missing? Steering question

Default What am I missing? Steering question

Is there a washer or something that goes between the tie rod end and the end of the pitman arm? I switched front axles and it doesn't seem to fit right upon reassembly. See pics:

No washer that I remember...there should be a rubber boot on there so that when you grease it there is a chamber for it to sit in...

If you end up getting new ones I found them pretty cheap when I needed them:

Where to find steering rod ends?

Just to update for future searches- I found them for about $27 at
http://www.ussprings.com. I didn't receive them yet, but the part numbers are correct. If they're wrong for some reason, I'll update the post.

Found my receipt and called to see if they were still in business. They are, price was the same as on my receipt, but I was off a little. $31.19.

I asked the guy what happened to their website, he said they never had one. I must've dreamed it.

That thing is almost at a 90 degree angle? Can't be.

You mean you guys don't have your winch mounted on an angle like that?

Just kidding... Yes, it is the PTO for the winch just hanging there. The LU4 is sitting on the work bench. I'm just waiting to accidentally engage the PTO on a test run and have some bodywork to do.
