Default Stock Steering Box Re-Inforcement Bar

I get the idea that the stock steering box had a bar that came from the right side of the frame over to the steering box. I see something in some of the pictures that looks like a bar on a diagonal. My truck has a power steering box that is coming out. (Wish me luck that they didn't butcher the frame to install it) If there is a bar, where did it connect to the box or to the frame on the driver side of the frame? Is it essential? And if so, how essential?

I have a NOS standard/original steering box and pitman arm. I don't need power steering and it is just another thing to break. I didn't have power steering in 1969 so why now?

Thanks for your consideration and answers!

    Don,
I have stock axles and steering, and do have a cross brace. It Connects from the pass side to the rear area of the gear box.
    Thanks, George

Thanks for the responses. I have no bar and wonder if it is necessary. Does it bolt to the box?

Thank You very, very much. That is exactly what I needed. I will have to fabricate something like that and re-install it. I appreciate your time and effort taking and posting the pictures. That is what I was unable to see on mine.

    Best,
