Thread: Composite Tail Lamps Fix

    Default Composite Tail Lamps Fix

Are there any repair kits for the guts of the composite lamps? Water pooled at the bottom of one of mine and rusted out the lower plate with the running lamp bulb. Or do I just need to get a whole new unit?

You would be better off buying new ones.

I took the leap and for a few years was a small bucket light collector. I probably have 30-40 of the darn things. Exactly 10 that work. I should have just ordered 4 new ones from New Star for the M715 and another set of 4 for the M35 Gasser.

to answer your question, yes, you can buy all the internal guts from saturn surplus. complete kit is about $16.00 per light. i rebuilt all four of mine, front & back. taking them apart is problematic, i was lucky and didn't twist off any of the screws. good luck...........al

Anti seize is your friend with these aluminum housings, stainless cover bolts and steel internal screws. No matter if you rebuild or buy new.
