    Default Driveshaft Measurement

So I'm in the middle of replacing my leaf spring shackles with aftermarket ones (Ford Ranger's)....Looking for a measurement so I can set the axle at the proper location.

How much exposed should the long section have from the front smaller part?

My axle I'm afraid has crept back a little, so I need to be certain before I mount the front bracket

    Thank you

after re-reading this, I dont know what the "F" I was thinking...

What I need is a measurement from the front axle to the rear axle on a stock truck

Let's say center of hub to center of hub

    Thank you

I went outside and measured. 126.25 inches. Mind you, I didn't have someone to hold the tape but I am sure that it is within one quarter of an inch.

The data plate on the dash says 126" even. Don, might want to check your leaf spring bushings. Or, measure the other side to make sure the axles are square. I know, 1/4 inch isn't much. However, it can lead to some pretty hefty tire wire.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

I measured it without any help, just hooking the tape in the lifting shackle hole and going to the front wheel. I would bet it is OK but thanks, I will check when I get home.
