Thread: Troopseats and Cargo Bows

    Default Troopseats and Cargo Bows

With alot of new people coming on board lately asking about troopseats, I have the following question.

With the Deuce seats hardware being very close to original M715 hardware, would there be a market for me to make some M715 seat kits?

I have made a couple of sets for myself and and I have access to quite a few Deuce seats.

So, Is anyone interested in me making some seats and what kind of price would you be willing to pay? It does take awhile to cut all the metal and wood/fiberglass.

Hmmm, I hope not too much... if you get my drift

BTW, with the stuff that I got from you, I am moving ahead. Still fighting exhaust but making progress. I have it mocked up now and thanks for the lead on the parts.

Let me know if you want to get rid of those other things that we talked about, seriously.

Default Scored some M35 troop seats

I scored some M35A2 troop seats today from some nice guys I met building some deuces. Couldn't beat the price. Free! Besides them being too long are the M35 seats taller too? I think the deuce has six boards and the 715 should have five right?

Nope, a M715 should have 6 boards. 4 on the seat, and 2 on the top support. A Dodge m37 would only have 5 boards.

    Default OK cool

Ok so other than having too many uprights and the board being way too long I guess I can find a way to make these seats work.

Yep, pull all the uprights except the ends. Put one end in the bed pocket, stick a loose one in the other end of the bed, level and drill your holes. Move the hinge hardware, bolt it up, cut off the excess, shorten the middle upright, drill and bolt it in. Move hinges to the middle and then repeat for the other side.
You really need a helper when doing this because everything is big and bulky. That and a weekend are about all you need.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.
