    Default Transmission Bearing Retainer

I yanked my engine/trans tonight to prepare for frame resto and found that the front bearing retainer of the transmission is broke (the throw-out bearing rides on this). The previous owner already swapped in a 350 with what appears to be an Advanced Adpters 2-piece kit. Would the front bearing retainer be original or would it have been replaced with something that came in the adpater kit? Thanks,

The retainer is stock but needs to be cut-off some, for use with the adapters Bob Cowan used to sell. That sounds like the one you have. I've got trucks with both if you need to come and see one.

I'm wrong, I went-out with a flashlight and looked, the Cowan style is one piece and welded together. The advanced adapter is two-piece. Best I remember, both need to be cut-off.
