I got fed up with replacing fuel filters and took the advice of a fellow Zoner and had my fuel tank 'tanked.' I got it back on Friday. Amazing difference. I can actually see clear fuel in my filters now, not a brownish colored liquid. While I had the tank out, I converted my fuel gauge sending unit to a 0-90 Ohm 12 volt one. I will post pictures and text when my film gets developed. I used the stock #28 wire for the sender unit at the tank and at the gauge. When I removed the tank, I noticeda wire bolted to the frame just hanging near the tank. I assumed this was a ground for the fuel tank. When I put fuel back in it and turned everything on, my fuel gauge didn't work. I touched the unconnected ground wire to the tank and the gauge worked. It has worked ever since with the ground wire unhooked.

Is there a ground wire for the tank in its stock form?

If yes, then where does it attach to the tank at? and how?

Thanks
