Thread: Hazard lights

    Default Hazard lights

I have an early M725 with early type turn signal and distro box. Can I hook up a seperate toggle switch down to the distro box input side and tap the left and right turn signal, so they become hazard lights when I turn on the toggle switch. Will it work? I just want to check so I don't fry the distro box circuits.

    Yep, works great.

Use a switch and three diodes, so when the switch is on, it supplies power (from the input to the turn signal box) to the left, right, and either inputs from the turn signal switch. Or just put the switch between the left and right inputs, and remember that to turn on the hazards, you also need to flip the turn signal lever one way or the other too.

Don't need to worry about wiring in hazard lights for my M725. I had the state vehicle inspection done on my M715 today and asked the inspector if the vehicle was stock without the hazard lights, do I need to wire one in, and he said not if it originally didn't come stock.

Soon you will learn not to ask questions like that.

Generally, when it comes to inspections, do not ever bring up any topic that might in any way result in the inspector remembering or noticing something. You got lucky.

He is a friend of mine I went to school with. Normally if anything is found that I miss, he will let me pass anyway as he knows I will fix it. Advantage of a small town. State inspection only costs me $20 for a sticker as it doesn't need emissions.
