i pulled my truck with about 100 ft out though 50 ft of snow about 2-3 ft deep
So maybe I don't have to get a 12,000 lb winch after all??? When I hit the lottery, I was thinking of a Milemarker hydraulic unit. Since I have TBI, the engine is reliable now, so I'm not worried about winching when the motor is dead. Besides that's what buddies are for. <g>
so i will have no trouble getting out of a stuck. thanks i was just wondering, the winch is @#$! huge...
M715,s..are a mans jeep...
I debated the electric vs hydo winch for a while. I went with the electric because I've seen people crossing "streams" that were really rivers. With a Hydro winch they are SOL when the engine dies, at least with the electric they can get dry.....
I didn't think the electrics were spec'd to be used underwater. I agree that it would be nice to have a winch if the motor was dead.
Yeah, but how far will a battery alone winch a vehicle??
That is why I put two of the biggest batteries I could buy in mine, might go to three. Sure makes cranking that little Chevy easy! So far I have always been able to fire right up after winching with the engine off. I used welding cables for battery cables. Mine is a Warn M-10,000
Proud owner of two 1968 M0715 trucks....
