Thread: Hummer tires and wheels?

  1. #1

    Default Hummer tires and wheels?

Are they worth it? Bunch of them on GL at Riley. Nobody has bid on them thus far. Too much work or too costly to modify those rims?

    Just pondering the possibilities.

Are they 8 or 12 stud rims? I know they have 8 lug mounts. I am asking about the studs that hold the rim together. The 8 luggers can't take high pressure and are hard to seal. The 12 luggers are pretty good, but still a pain to seal up and hold air.

Eight luggers. Now that you mention that I recall you saying that elsewhere.

I think I'll pass on them.

    Thanks for the reminder!

I've had the eight lug ones on mine for a few years and mine do not leak. I've altered the pressure a few times for traction and etc, so I can't claim to have never touched them since I originally filled them, but to my knowledge they're as airtight as any setup I've ever owned.

That said, I only run 12-14PSI in the front and 11PSI in the rear.

Swapping the centers was pretty easy.
