Unless you have a battery charger with a 24 volt selction (I got mine out of a dumpster, but I've seen them advertised different places), I believe you need to charge them seperately.

You don't need to disconnect them, just charge separately.

shouldn't the two 12 volt batteries be charged seperately by dissconecting the cable between the two. I just installed two new Interstate batteries in my m715 so I should be good for some time. Maybe someone out there could explain the proper way to charge a 24 volt system step by step. I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated. Also I have a small drip coming from the front drain plug on my trans. I don't think the plug is the original. Is the answer to use some teflon tape on the threads? Thanks

By front drain plug do you mean the big one on the bellhousing? If so, it's not a drain plug... at least not like you're thinking, and it should actually be removed. It's a fording plug that is designed to be removed for normal operation and installed only for the duration of a water crossing. This lets any rear main seal oil seepage drain out without messing up your clutch during normal operation, while allowing the fording kit to keep water and debris out of the clutch mechanism while fording.
P.S. Looks like you're fairly new here (low post count)... as a matter of courtesy it's best to start your own thread if you have a question that's off-topic from the one you're in. IE this thread is about 24V charging and the idea is to keep all of the posts as closely relevant as possible to the topic. Otherwise threads become impossibly convoluted and the site becomes worthless. Just for the future. (Also, a moderator might erase or modify your post if it doesn't follow this guideline...)
