    Default SM465 questions

When yall have installed a 350 backed by an sm465 did the firewall still need to be dented? also did you need a new "floor hump" cover? not sure the correct name for it but the part of the floor where the shifter is lol.
I just cant make myself spend the money on an adapter when i can just toss this tranny in.
    thanks

The shifter will come out in the hole already there. The firewall might need a small clearance on the passenger side.

Find a 1 ton 4x4 Chevy from the mid '70's that has a 350/465 and married 205. Install the entire unit as one, build 1 new cross member and get new drive shafts cut. All your issues taken care of in a week or so. cheaper than buying pieces too.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Inspect the adapter between the tranny and transfer. These units are getting some age and the splines wear. I know from experience that they will fail and u get to walk 15 miles home in the dark with a dead flashlight. In the winter. With a cousin that keeps muttering something like "bulletproof drivetrain my arse!!"
