Thread: circuit breaker

    Default circuit breaker

Truck doesn't have any fuses, I suppose there should be circuit breakers instead.
What exactly is that and where to find them located in the truck? I catch that as switches which can be engaged again if opened.
Search-engine delivered a Post from Brute, that there is one breaker for the light circuit. Is that all?

Are there benefits compared to fuses and are there any drawbacks?

Where to buy new ones if a breaker is burnt out? Are there fuseBoxes available right out of the box and where to put them into the truck?

The stock military wiring has no fuses or breakers. A stock wiring harness really just turns on the engine, works the gauges and makes the lights work. Very simple system with just a breaker built into the 3 lever light switch.

I would suggest you click on the "online manual" link at the top of the page. Then go to the "M715 lighting wiring diagram". That has just about every wire on the truck listed and numbered. Very helpfull.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Unless you are going for a completely stock restoration I would suggest adding a fuse box. It makes it easier to wire in my opinion and is a lot safer too.
