Thread: Quick hood question

  1. #1

    Default Quick hood question

I have a blow back damaged hood on my M715, what years FSJ hoods fit? More to the point will a 87 Wagoneer hood be the same?

    Thanks

Not sure about the Waggy hood. My 84 Wag looks pretty close but I just don't know. VPW sells them NOS for 100 bucks if it doesn't work.

The hood from a Waggy or J-truck will fit; however it is better to get one from an older vehicle. On the newer Wags the hood has a bar that goes across the front of the opening. Once it is removed the holes would also have to be filled in.

How old to get one without the bar? Is there a year cut off point?

Seems like many of us occasionally drive off without latching the hood down. I suspect blowback damaged hoods are somewhat common.

    Here is there M715 site:

    http://www.m715kaiserjeep.com/

Last I talked to the owner, they didnt ship hoods as the cost to crate them to get to the destination safely was more than the cost of the hood...
