That sure doesn't look like a M715 drum to me. What is that from?
Oh, to answer your question. This would be the first cracked one I have seen here on the Zone. However, I don't think your is an external band stock M715 parking brake drum.

That looks like the m715 e-brake. Just doesn't have the external band and hardware and not covered with 40 years of oil.
To answer the original question, cracking e-brake discs is not common. However nos discs are readily available.

OK, I just pulled one out, took a picture, posted the picture and then looked at his picture again. The non shiny edges threw me. Anyway, cracked drums are rare. That thing must have gotten really hot.

I didn't see them until I blasted it. His looks to have cracks coming out from the bolt holes also.

Maybe Tim's is after he mounted his driveshaft to the ebrake output. I have not seen more than 4 holes in any of mine either mounted or nos.

Actually, those are pencil marks made by Sermis so he could drill the extra holes to make it fit his 205 output flange.
