You need a different input shaft and bearing carrier. Divorced 205's are not that hard to find. I would look for one.
Porkchop might still have the one he was trying to sell a while back. He's in NC right now too.
Wouldn't even bother, as was pointed out, divorced units are pretty common, and you would have to have at least some of the components from one to do it.(input gear, input bearing retainer) also, you would need to drill the case for the new bearing retainer. One other obstacle(I would go look, but my divorced case is buried in the snow) is there are two different input bearing sizes, and I don't remember off hand if the divorced input is the large bore, or small bore bearing. You can always machine a small bearing case to a large bore, but obviously, you cannot make a large bore a small one.
If I remember right, the divorced cases use a large bearing, but I could be mistaken. Bottom line, unless you have a divorced case to canabilize(which defeats the purpose) then you would probably spend more on the conversion, than you would for a divorced case.
One relatively unknown fact, is that it is very easy to take a drivers drop divorced case, and turn it into a passengers drop, and vice versa, if you just absolutely can not find the right one for your needs.
