Thread: duece 1/2 wheels on a 715

    Default duece 1/2 wheels on a 715

Just figured i would check with all of the experts out there to see if this is true?
I saw a picture of a duece 1/2 20" wheel mounted on a 715, it looks like the wheel was mounted backwards with the dish facing out rather than in? it also appeared to have the 715 bolt pattern drilled into the 20" wheel some how. Just wondering if this is a possible solution to getting taller tires onto the truck without spending a boat load of dough on new wheels and tires or trying to track down a decent set of XZL's

I know a guy who has done it with 2 trucks...his and his dads...

    You need the riveted rims.
Cut the rivets and flip them around, put back together.
    Drill the M715 pattern in.

He has a load of miles on them and pulled a trailer to boot...work well.

While it is sorta old news, I don't recall seeing pictures?

Either of you guys have some to post? Just curious how it would look.

Also note that a lot of old big trucks and even some farm equipment ran the same dimension and bolt patterned rims. May help you track some down knowing that there are plenty of sources.

That's a pretty neat look. Those are M35 wheels that are turned inside-out? The tire radius is just about a perfect match to the M715 fenders.

thats the ticket right there, the truck I saw was a different on but the same idea.
Looks like I have a project coming up to give this a try, I saw nother set that they cut and welded the centers out of the 715 into the m35 wheel.

Also this looks like it flips the lock ring to the inside of the wheel.

I like the wheel well filling...a spring over and one could probably stuff an 11-20 in there...either way, its overdrive...

This may seam like a silly question.
But why do you have to turn the centers around, why not just turn the whole wheel around??
