    Default 230 rod bearings

I'm looking for part numbers with brand name for standard rod bearings (both sizes) for my stock engine. Memphis is asking for 28.00 dollars per bearing so I'm looking for a cheaper source for parts. Napa could not help me. Thanks

The way the rods are designed, there is different p/n's for the even numbered rods and odd numbered rods. This is because the rods are offset from centerline. So rods 1, 3 and 5 take one number and rods 2 4 & 6 take a different number. They are getting hard to find.

Besides Memphis, try Egge Machine shop. I've delt with them in the past. They want about $22 each for rod brg's. Listed under Willys '62-'65

    Default Rod Bearing

After loads of e-mails and long distance calls, I now have a source for standard rod bearings. Rockauto, llc stocks them. PT# 1995cp and 1995cpa. Both are federal mogul numbers.

After looking up those Part Numbers: 1995cp and 1995cpa at the Rockauto website, it looks that they fit the L6-226 engine, which is a flathead motor, not the overhead cam engine 230 cid. The rod bearings are close for both engines, but not the same.

Here's from King Bearing's website out of Israel. You may have to use Internet Explorer for the web site to function.

    230 OHC engine: http://www.king-bearings.com/cat/panel/pan1398.htm

    226 cid flat head: http://www.king-bearings.com/cat/panel/pan1397.htm

After reading through the spec's, it looks like the rod bearings are a bit "longer" for the 226. not sure if the oil squirt hole will line up in the rod.
