comes up as a pm in my email but no pm in my site box
keeps wanting me to click on a link like i am dumb enough to do that

yep, I have got it too. I suspect a disgruntled x-Zoner is behind it. But just my guess.

Its another spammer getting through and sending random PM's. DON'T click on anything (as if it needs to be said)

I'm sure Jon, or the admins have beat you to the punch and deleted the offending PM's before you got here.

We have had 3 attacks through the pm system here on the site. The spammers are using programs that do this.
Whatever you do, DONT believe their crap and delete the message...If you click on their link you can get infected with really bad stuff.

Hammer and I are working on fixes...there are a lot of boards like ours, thousands, that are being hit this way...so there are a lot of people worikng on this and there are things out there we can do now...we are implementing these.

Hammer and I have implemented a bunch of changes to combat these clowns. We will see how well we have done so far...we will not let these jerks win!

I have been getting them too. I feel badly for you, having done so much work already, then to have your masterpiece attacked by spammers. No good deed goes unpunished. The internet police are out there watching porn, or posing as children, trying to lure predators. I have no idea if they are doing anything. but when it comes to spam, we are on our own. I think it more of a serious problem than porn. But maybe I do not see what they see.
I love the way police will jump for an opportunity to ticket me, but when I report a crime, it is filed away, in the circular file. I had so many tools stolen when I had no insurance. Also had problems with bad guys that know more about the law, and ways to work outside of it.

About a quarter of the attacks are porn related...thankfully we ave GREAT moderators and admins here to get this crap gone and help seal the leaks...
