Okay, so looks like I'm figuring out that you should not try to copy pics from photobucket on handheld or I-pad devices. So this is just one of the pics in the album. I assume that all can be viewed by clicking on this one?

I am repairing another set of seats. This time I am also working on the seat bottoms/spring pacs.

Although the pic isn't the best, here are NOS bases only in the center of the pic. The come with the riveted mounting brackets. I got them from VPW.

Here is a pic of the old seat bottoms, note the rot where the support rod staples down. This is the only place they were bad.

I removed the spring pacs from my old seats. The springs were in excellent shape and not rusty. Just pull out the staples with a side cutters. Takes about 15 minutes to get all the staples out of a whole seat.

Power wash the seat spring pacs. Make sure none of the springs are not loose from the clamps, and any of the small springs are not broken or poking upward.

Place them on the new seat bottom. Look at the spacing from your other seat to make sure you got them in the right spot. NOTE: the spring pacs should be flush with the back of the board, and overhang the front by 2 inches or so.

I didn't save the package for the staples. They measure .150 ID by .625 long. I got them from a regular hardware store. They come in long packs like desk staples do. Just cut them apart with a utility knife. Hold them in place with a needle nose pliers and tap them in place with a punch. It took a good half hour to staple the spring pacs down.

Note: Use three staples per coil, and three staples for each rod end.

Staple the two rods last, as you can use them to straighten out the spring pacs a little.
