    Sorry it took so long.

One large cable went to the slave receptacle and the other could be the engine to frame ground...thats where mine is.

On the door window...is there a lump of some kind attached to the windshield frame just below the top edge of the fixed door window? Not stock to the M715...any idea what that is? Might be a clue...might not...

The wire for the blackout headlight, the hood mounted light, is wire #19 and it leaves the harness on the engine side of the firewall between the 2 #75 wires, that run to the brake light switch, AND the large split in the harness, where a bunch of wires in the harness branch off. This branch holds 6 wires for the turn signals and the large wire to the starter switch from the alternator...this is a 4 gauge wire so pretty big.

Well that explains why the windows are interfering with the top frame. The width is correct and all of the mounting holes line up but the height is too tall- I wonder what these windows came off of or if my truck had a different style top frame initially? It is odd that the fixed windows match on both doors yet the roll ups do not. This truck is just full of mysteries

If anyone has any fixed windows that they want to get rid of I will be looking for a pair.

My truck has a braided ground strap on the right motor mount connecting the engine to the frame - you can see it in a couple of the pictures. Did they have ground straps on both motor mounts?

I will have to look closer at that. I noticed it when I mounted the top frame because it interferred with the top frame. I assumed it was just the lip for mounting the weather strip. It looked like the weather strip should go around the top frame and then come down the windshield pillar attached to that lip.

I believe that is consistent with the cutoff wire I saw on my wiring harness. Thanks for the info.

I wasnt reading too well...my motor to frame ground is on the passenger side as well...braided...

Typically the alternaotr ground wire, good size cable with insulation like a battery cable, would run from the alt. to the alternator mount bracket...it is possible tha someone ran it to the motor mount area...

Do you have the alternator and top bracket...the one with the adjuster? There should be a bolt/nut on the upper bracker about 1/3 to 1/2 way out from the motor where that ground originally mouted.

Could also be for something the rest of us dont have...one from the starter solenoid/relay on the firewall maybe?

(if you are going to repaint the truck), on the hood and rear bumperetts or lower tailgate might have some markings that you might want uncover and stencil back on this truck
And really nice find there and welcome.

Since you have the front clip off of the truck, check the top of the right frame rail where the angled brace welds on for a serial number. Weird headlight mounts also. Good idea sticking with the resto. Nice truck.
