    Getting really tired of the gear oil dripping everywhere. Anyone know of a source for a new set of seals?

    AB Linn, Memphis Equipment, VPW, Surplus City....pretty much everone with M715 parts...

    Course those are NOS...if you want NEW ones, most of the ones from an NP205 swap I have heard...someone should be able to confirm that...

    AB Linn has boxes full of them if you want the stock ones. NP205 seals from just about any '70's Ford, Dodge or Chevy will fit too. They just aren't correct.

    If you run the truck over 50 mph for any extended period of time, the seals will keep going out. Switch t-cases or drive slower if you want to stop the leaks. Also, use Permatex #2 gasket maker to seal the drain and fill plugs. Big leak stopper there.

    If I recall this right...the stock NP200 seals were rated for a lower temp before failure than the newer NP205 ones...I think Bob Bump posted it some time back on the failed drive...

    Seems there was like a 50 degree difference in max temp that the seal could be exposed to before failure...a significant difference...

    The stock seals have a double lip. One to keep the oil in and one to keep dust off the oil seal. The seal metal itself is deeper into the t-case. That is correct for these trucks. The NP200 seal just has the keep the oil in lip. That extra lip not being there and the new material makes a big difference in the life of the seal as pointed out above.
    2 of my 4 are NP205 type and don't leak. The old NP200 ones are seeping oil. That could be age or it could be design.

    Okay, the 205 seals sound like the way to go. Does some one who's swapped seals have a part number for a set of 205 seals that will interchange?

    BTW, AB just emailed back that he's got the "civilian" seals. Does the mil version have the double lip and the civi the single?

    I pulled the old ones from Frapguys Tcase and called the number in to the local auto parts store. No problem getting replacements of new manufacture. I didn't save the part number however so I can't help there.

    All 4 re-leaked in short order and the next step is a redi-sleeve but those are like 30 bucks each and not worth it for a case that'll get ditched soon anyhow.

    No reason to get things like grease seals from the surplus suppliers if you can get the same in new manufacture locally.

    The output seals will be right....the gaskets...I think there could be differences there...
