I am looking into tires. Whats killing me is how cheap the 16.5 rim size tires are selling for.
So my Question is... what other rims fit our lug pattern? Or do you guys drop the cash on having re-centered rims made up?

nothing fits. you can get some good rims made from a few places like marsh racing wheels. or make your own from some hummer rims and re-center them.
Either recentered wheels, or Marsh racing are the only options. Nothing else fits. There were some really old International rims that would bolt up, but the backspacing and rim width were funky and to no advantage at all.
Marsh built and shipped 4 wheels to me for around $550 last year. Not bad, when I can now use no tubes and wider tires too if I needed them.

I still like to make my own from hummv wheels. They are cheap locally as well as the tires in new condition. I order wheel centers from a guy on pirate offroad, he does them for around 30 each and they are nice. He has a CAD file with the m715 pattern now so he can cut any size or kind of wheel center needed for cheap. Snakeater
COWBELL, you need more of it
Snake eater post me some links when you get time.
Not sure if SE is talking about C&M (Mad Mac), but these are nice: http://www.cmperformancemachine.com/...able=Y&cat=252
REPLY in lieu of Edit:
IMHO, I'm up in the air over the H1's after doing the math etc
H1's ($40ea(ish), plus shipping ($20ea)
Centers ($40 ea) plus shipping ($10ea)
you cut, weld, and "hope" to do a good job ie straight, penetration etc
O'rings ($5ea)
Paint/powdercoat ($5-20ea)
so, not counting assundries like a stripped stud, replacement nuts etc, you're in around $125ish per wheel, which is $500 for the set, and that's right near the range of getting the premade March wheels that have a very excellent reputation
That was my exact thinking, and why I chose Marsh. I couldn't build them here myself as cheap, and assure they'd do 55MPH without shaking the truck apart in the process. Plus, I wanted to go wheeling the following weekend, so time was a factor....

ok so on this note... would it be "better" to buy rims that are 16.5 so I may be able to run used military tires?
or should I use 15 inch rims as the tires are the same as on my other jeep and perhaps find used tires a little closer to home?
and secondly... should I do 8" wide or...?
any suggestions on back spacing?
