Default Say hello to my new girl.....

Thanks to Broncoman for setting up the deal. just got her home today. Think I will call her "blue". New tires, little body work and a fresh coat of OD green should spruce her up a little. Stay tuned for the modifications/upgrades starting tomorrow. Snakeater

ahh the fun. Went out to see if the heater worked on the truck. Switched it on, waited a minute, heard the fan, then pouring white smoke! guess I need a fan motor now........Snakeater

No idea where to get it. Was painted blue by MO. city maintenence. May have been the only color they had. I hope so. It is all OD underneath and is going back OD as soon as I can get it there. Although I like fishman's avitar of the blue m-715 with the yellow lettering alot. Snakeater

Where was the smoke coming from? You are sure it was the motor, not a leaking heater core?

opened up the little "flu on the front of the heater box and looked inside. Looks to me like I let the smoke out of the motor. Hasn't made a peep since I first tried it. Snakeater

hook it up to 110v that might kick start it ....

prob hasn't been on in a lot of years, or could have had any kind of junk laying in the motor

Wow, nice find! Are you going to sand blast it or just sand it down and shoot it? I've seen a couple of heater motors on Ebay lately. Mine looked pretty much the same 12 months ago, 'cept it was painted Aervoe wwII flat olive.
Any rust issues? I hate rust more than anything.
