    Question about tires 11.00-16?
    Post by canders7 on Jul 27, 2006, 12:45am

    Michelin XL 11.00-16

What is the true height of these tires? (38"?)

Are H1 wheels an appropriate choice to mount these tires?

Are the H1 wheels available in an 8 lug pattern that is the same as a 3/4-1 ton ford 8 lug axle?

Thanks. Sorry for the potentially stupid questions.

Are they good offroad tires? And where is a good source of these? What should I expect to pay?

Double the 11, add the 16. 38" is about the "nominal" size, not necessarily the true size though Michelin seems to get them pretty close.

H1 wheels are 16.5 and won't fit these tires.

I would guess you'd typically pay between $500 and $1000 for a good used set.

Are you talking hummer double beadlocks?

If so, they're 16.5 instead of 16" so they will not work.

They do have the same eight lug pattern, but will not work on standard axles due to the extreme offset (rim interferes with the steering components) Some dodge's can just barely clear along with some dually trucks as the fronts are different due to dually wheel's offset.
(whoops, Chris beat me to the punch)

    1) I never measured mine, but 38"-38 1/2" sounds about right.
    2) Unless I'm mistaken, hummer wheels are 16.5". Don't mount a 16" tire on 'em!
    3) I don't know. Maybe, but the backspacing would be wierd.
    4) I like 'em. They're good on road, and off.
    5) Depends on where you're at. A few zoners sell 'em.
    6) Again, depends.

My nearly new XLs (+/- 95%) stood 38-3/8" tall.

IMHO, this size tire fits our trucks perfectly!

Since we're on the subject, can they be mounted on standard 16"GM wheels

They can be mounted on standard 16 inch rims...whether they will fit a given vehicle depends on the vehicle, rim, backspacing...you know the drill...

They should easily mount on any 16" wheel from 6-8" width. I have mounted them on stock wheels at 6" width and the cowan m715 wheels which are a 8" width.
