Bridge plates. . .what numbers for my rig?
    Post by canders7 on Jul 17, 2006, 5:21pm

So I don't have an M715 but I do have a FSJ Cherokee that I am trying to make into a "military" vehicle. Afterall the army did use K5 Blazers. What numbers would be used on the bridge plate in my situation.

Thanks for understanding that I don't actually have the real thing, I would if I could find one and talk the wife into another Jeep!

Note, the "C" is for "Combination Vehicle", or in simplier terms, one towing a trailer. If you are not towing something, the "C" should be turned around backwards. Check out the Quirks Manual in the Online Manuals section for more info.

Quirks booklet says the "C" is for "loaded, cross-country" and the "05" is used when pulling a trailer. "04" used otherwise. But nothing about the "C" not being used.

The Quirks manual isn't real clear on that point. Here is a tech artical from the military over at Steel soldiers that give more info on the Bridge Plate and the "C":

As usual you will have to copy and paste the link and delete the space. Click on the image for a bigger version that is easier to read.

Possible...On the flat piece that holds all the numbers in at the top of the bridge placard, the C may be on the rear and you didnt notice? Also possible that the C is gone or nearly gone...mine has whats left of a red C...very faint now and needs redone...
