Looks good Tim, I guess I better get started on mine. Did you get a new fuel filler hose yet. If not there is one on ebay, but 59$ ouch.

Looks good, I'm jealous, I'm gonna see your truck painted before mine. Well it will be cool to to get it painted. Well have fun, you can post some pics from the transformation as it goes from primer to paint. See ya Friday about 4:00? Fisherman

No fuel filler yet. What has Memphis sold them for, anyone know? $60 seems a bit steep.

No need to be jealous, Fish.... Yeah, mine may be painted before yours, but I'm telling you, you're going to freak at my level of preparedness! Or lack thereof. To do it "right," I'd need to do as you're doing...taking everything apart and cleaning/prepping each piece properly. But I've done a decent job on what I've got, so I think it will be okay.

Yes, I plan to leave home at 2:00 Friday, so I'd be there right around 4 o'clock.

I bought mine from Memphis for about $30-$40, but that was in 2002 or 2003. So, a while ago. Funny thing was that they packed it in peanuts. YES, the styrofoam ones. It's a big RUBBER tube!! It doesn't really NEED peanuts! I guess they weren't taking any chances. I thought it was funny. It was a good transaction, too. Quick delivery, reasonable shipping.

Mine is starting to show cracking (CO sun, I suspect), so eventually I'll have to go to another fuel hose, as those big hoses won't be around forever.

Those hoses aren't made anymore and when the last ones are sold you won't be able to get them. $50-60 is the going price for the hose. All my trucks have weathered hoses but none leak. I am pretty sure they are all 40 years old.

Ok so who wants to take on the tooling cost to have repo tubes made. Out of good gas pump line rubber that one crack and fall apart the first time you fill up?

Hey, nobody bid on that hose on eBay, 'k? I'll only ruin it for you when I snipe it!

Here we are, loaded and ready for tomorrow's trip to Fisherman's place!

Theres always an alternative to the stock hose....check this out:

It **looks like** all one would need is a single neoprene connector and some clamps to go from the 3 inch tank inlet to this...which appears to be necked down and may already be 3 inch...so a straigt to straight coupler...for $50 you get a permanent solution....very competitive to the NOS hoses and the couplers can be bought as new manufacture...not 40 year old stuff...
