    Wiper arms and blades?
    Post by maddawg308 on Jul 5, 2006, 10:38am

Are the wiper arms and blades used of the M725 the same as used on the Jeep CJ-5? I have been fruitless in my search for original WA and WB, and am looking for close matches.

This is a wiper arm/blade from an AMC-era CJ-5 (in this case, a '77) along side the M715 driver's side blade.

Ah, crap. Maybe one of the wiper arms from one of the older CJs, like the CJ-2A?

Well, I think you could drill out the rivets where the flat portion of the arm attaches to the thicker part, then you could cut it to length, drill two holes where the rivets go and rivet it together again.

The only thing you wouldn't have is the "clocked" passenger arm this way. But it should work....

And I've only heard that the splined end fits. Haven't tried it to be sure.

    Good luck!

Ethan wrote up a wiper are conversion deal sometime in the past... I can't remember if it's just the wiper or if it was the whole kit'n'kabootle, but I think it was just the wiper- gonz

Good news, went to NAPA today and they had metal wipers and blades that are close matches to -715 stock sets, fit right on the vacuum wiper motors, and they are the right length. $52 for 2 sets of WA and WB. Not great, but where else are we going to find them?

FWIW, I took the wiper blade and part of the arm from a '92 YJ and welded that to the stock 715 part (or at least stock to me) that got me a decent blade with easy swappability.

Hey, maddawg... Mind posting a pic here of what you ended up with? I'm going to be in the same boat with my wipers as soon as our moment or two of rainless summer days ends. I'm especially interested in seeing what you got for the passenger side.
