Any chance a Jeep Scrambler roll bar fits the bed of a M715? I know where there is an "extra" one fairly cheap. Are there any "bolt ins" or do they have to be custom made?

Note: I am talking about a bed mounted roll bar not a cab roll cage.

inside 715 bed is 64" across
in between wheel wells is 51"

cj-8 main hoop is 55" across
    overall height is 44"
mainbar legs kick forward a total of 5" starting halfway down the bar
overall length of mounts (front to rear) is 48"
    rear mounts are 55" across

not a bolt in, rear mounts are to wide to fit inbetween the wheel wells

Thanks, John. With my M715 not here yet I had no way of taking measurements. It was worth a shot for $25. Do you know if there is another truck bed roll bar that does fit? I see roll bars for sale occasionally here in the local Trading Post.

if you get lucky enough, but this is a long shot, I would bet that the factory J-truck rollbar would fit. Not too many of those around though, came on the Honcho trucks as an option.

I have seen a lot of trail flops and/or rolls.

You must have at least some concern of this to be adding a roll bar.

I highly suggest having a custom cage fabbed up by a reputable shop that specializes in them. Remember that it's your life that's at stake here and a cage is not something to skimp on, especially on this heavy of a vehicle. This is definitely something you want done right.

I don't know of any good shops in Virginia, but I do know a couple in Maryland and Pennsylvania that do good work. I'm a member of a few local wheeling clubs in the area and am friends with many people who regularly test their cages, so I'd be more than happy to get a few recommendations for you if you need.
