WELL THE BELLHOUSINGS ARE DIFFERENT. it takes casting number 15990013 bellhousing for a chevy engine or cummins engine with chevy clutch setup. its a hydraulic clutch bellhsg. the sm465 bells will not work even if modified. more to come soon.

I was thinking they were different...

p.s. Advanced Adapters makes a bellhousing for all the different Gm variations of the NV4500 and moves the clutch linkage back to the drivers side to get it away from the driveshaft...

iirc, it was $300+/- for the AA, and $450+/- for the GM one...but AA comes with a bunch of stuff not just the bellhousing like from the dealer...

here's the paperwork from the 95..

SPECIAL NOTE: The components packaged in this kit have been assembled and machined for specific type of conversions. Modifications to any of the components will void
any possible warranty or return privileges. If you do not fully understand modifications or changes that will be required to complete your conversion, we strongly recommend that
you contact our sales department for more information. This instruction sheet is only to be used for the assembly of Advance Adapter components. We recommend that a service
manual pertaining to your vehicle be obtained for specific torque values, wiring diagrams and other related equipment. These manuals are normally available at automotive dealerships
    and parts stores.

    1. 1 712548-PLT DUST COVER PLATE

    12. 1 JP001 JEEP INSTRUCTION MANUAL
    GM BELLHOUSING FOR USE WITH
    NV4500 TRANSMISSION
    SPECIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The NV4500 bellhousing that is available from General Motors has a hydraulic release bearing located on the passenger
side of the vehicle. This makes the bellhousing incompatible with 4WD vehicles that have the front driveshaft on the
passenger side. In order to install these new transmissions in older Chevy trucks, Jeep vehicles, and Toyota Land
Cruisers, we have manufactured this new aluminum bellhousing. The indexing bore in the bellhousing is 5.125" and the
four (4) tapped bolt holes are 7/16"-14.
    DUST COVER INSTALLATION
The dust cover that we have furnished with this kit will fit all Chevy engines up to 1986. If your engine is 1986 or newer
and used the large rear main seal, you will need to modify the inside diameter of the steel sheet metal plate to allow for
clearance around the rear main seal area.
    NOTE:
We have found that when using the zoom brand clutch assembly and other "High Hat" style clutch assemblies, we have
encountered interference with the clutch arm. The only modification for zoom clutches would be to reduce the thickness
of the flywheel. These style clutch pressure plates are not recommended for use with this bellhousing.
    SPECIAL PILOT BEARING NOTE:
Due to variations in both the transmission input shaft length and bellhousing depth, it will be the customer's responsibility
to verify pilot bearing engagement from the new transmission input shaft tip. It may be necessary on some installations
to leave the pilot bearing extending approximately 3/16" from the crank location.
NOTE: The throw out arm boot provided in this bellhousing kit was designed for a Jeep throw out arm. The arm provided
in this kit is a Chevrolet arm. The boot may need to be modified for the correct arm location in the boot.
    Most 1999 & up GM V8 & V6
engines had a larger crank I.D.
The pilot bushing in this kit requires
    a steel sleeve P/N 716155
or you can also use a new GM
    bearing P/N 12557583

    NOTES:
    1. Be sure to grease inside pocket diameter of bearing. This will provide lubrication
    on the bearing retainer.
    2. Release bearing should have .060" clearance between fingers and face of bearing.
    3. Clutch disc should have .030" clearance between flywheel and disc when fully
    disengaged.
    4. On large diameter 168 tooth flywheels it may be necessary to grind additional
clearance on the lower inside diameter of the bellhousing. The bellhousing is
designed for a maximum flywheel thickness of 1.188".

p.s. there are also differences between the diesel and gas motor'd NV4500's coupled with different bolt patterns from year to year...

I think 93 to 94 Gm is one pattern, then gm changed it in 95 to a new pattern , then in 96 they changed it to match the Dodge pattern( same the whole time)...diesel vs gas changes what flywheel will fit iirc...
Advanced adapters has a bunch of good info on thier webpage along with NV4500.com...

you can measure the bolt pattern and try to figure it out...somewhere there is the different measurements....iirc, if the top bolts are closer than the bottom, it's a 93 to 95, input bearing retainer measurement narrows it down...

gotta think about where I saw that.....
this sucks being out of my apartment, all the paperwork is buried in the garage...

i think its a 1994 gas chevy truck application . it came with an aluminum chevy bellhousing that has a hydraulic throwout bearing, electronic speedo take off. i think i,am gonna pull it down and go through it before i install it to be safe. ther supposed to be a 5th gear nut that backs off. i did find the proper GM synthetic oil i think. part number # 12346190 at 15.91 a quart WOW.
