    IMPORTANT Brake Fitting info!!!
    Post by bluesman2a on Apr 21, 2006, 12:10pm

In replacing everything on my truck, I ran into a snag trying to get replacement brake fittings (specifically the block). Nobody had the 3 way 3/16 inverted flare WITH an 1/8" NPT for the brake pressure switch...

Made an important find: HARLEY's have EXACTLY what we need and it's even relatively cheap.

    Check out http://www.dragspecialties.com/fatbook/1731/53/2374322

Part # DS-097036 Rear T-junction with two side inverted flares, center inverted flare and bottom 1/8? NPT for 51-54 Servi-car; 58-69 FL, FLH (repl. OEM #83566-51)

Actually I went to pick this up at a local cycle shop, the parts guy asked me what it's going on... We had a good chuckle when I explained to him that the same fitting used on a 51 Harley with a side-car also fits a 67 Kaiser M-715...

I stopped at a Harley shop on the way to the Texas FE last fall looking for some headset mic muffs. I was at the parts stand for a few minutes when one of the mechanics walked in and wispered in the parts counter guys ear. He excused himself for a few minutes and then came back with a big smile. He asked me if that was my "big white cool looking thing in the parking lot?" Colton got a kick out of all these biker guys looking all over it before we could leave.

Now I have a reason to go to the Harley shop that actually makes sense.
