    Hummer Wheels
Post by foreverunstopable on Apr 16, 2006, 8:06pm

Hey guys just got a free set of Military Hummer Tires. They are the 8 bolt beadlock style with Mag run flats. Here is my question. I founf a comany that everyone here keeps crappin on. Florida 6x6. They sell recentered weld in style inserts with the M715 lug pattern for $50 a pop. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? I can get the welding done here and for $250.00 new rims/beadlocks/runflat...

    Did daniel move?

"welding done here" is ok for low speed off-road....if you want to run on the road at speed, you'll need to have pretty tight tolerences on runout.

I used my stock centers in hummer rims, worked fine for me, but off road only and I'm sure they're not near as true as professional made rims.

.020 is max run out if your going to run at highway speeds .its impossible to hold this tolerence doing it by hand. off road you,ll be fine though. bob

    Bob,

Do you have the gear to recenter the wheels correctly?

I would hold off on the wheel mod as an axle upgrade would make better sense in the long run. You will then have a great set of wheels allready--if the offset will work. Just my opin. By the way, the run flats WILL ruin your tire if you use them. Those are really only good if say you are about to pancake Osama Bin Laden and you have a flat. Go ahead and get him. Otherwise, you are just gonna have to replace a very expensive tire.

Good point, but I was looking for a good way to keep the stock axles as I have no desire to go over 60 in this vehicle or have tires that wont fit with the stock spring under. Ive seen those plastic inserts that get rid of the mags.... sigh I dont know what to do. I just want to get rid of my NDT's as they are flying apart.

Binford was selling his wheels and tires, they looked good. I think he wanted 190 bucks.
