power stering pump

Hey,

Quick question. I have been doing lots of investigating. Trying to get the parts for the PS switch and am stuck at the pump and brackets. Got the steering box with a drop pittman out of a FSJ.

Archives have some people saying some pumps are direct fit on the 230 while others say the pullies don't line up. Just trying to figure out what is best.

1. What brackets fit? or make brackets?
2. What pump?
3. What pully?

I hope someone can make it easy since I am a little on the slow side...... Hope it's as simple as go get one out of a 19XX J20 and it will bolt up no problem.

Also just bought a hydroboost and adapter so the pump is really needed now.

Any place you want to put the pump, go for it. My 230 had a fabbed up set of brackets to hold a Dodge alternator when I got it. I ripped them out, made brackets to hold a pump and GM 12SI alternator. Worked great as long as I had that engine in the truck.

If you get the box from a FSJ, get the pump as well. Any brackets it comes with can be used as starting points for your mount. Here is what mine looked like many years ago:
