I got started on one of my cold weather projects-switching out the stock carb/intake for a 2bbl. My first questions-

There is no port for a temp sender. Can I just plumb it into the port on the manifold with a tee (not the thermostat bypass, the other one)?

While I'm talking about that other port on the intake- When I got the truck there was a heater from some donor vehicle in it, not military. I'm going to take that out while I'm doing the intake. One of the hoses from the heater comes from the intake, the other goes to the bottom of the water pump. I thought that I should just take the heater out and connect the manifold and the bottom of the water pump. I looked at the manual, though, and it looks like it should go to the top of the water pump. The spot on the top where I believe it should go is currently just capped off.

The hose from the top of the valve cover can just go to the outside of the air filter housing, right?

Thanks
