Thread: My 67 is all ready for body work and paint!

  1. #1

Exclamation My 67 is all ready for body work and paint!

Heres how it sits, I have new rockers as well as a new windshield (Thanks bigngreen!) but I can't find floor pans for this truck. Does anybody know of a website that sells them? I decided to go with all original army colors (24087) and markings. Also, is it legal to re-paint the factory stars and markings on the truck as it is a personal/company vehicle and not a military truck?

If Jeep Panels Plus is still around thay can fix you up with floor pans. They are the same as J truck floors.

You won't have any problem with the original markings. I drive mine all the time with the stars and numbers on it. It will draw attention everywhere you stop though. You'll always start a long conversation......

Looks like you got a good start on it. We usually just make our own panels and floorpans. The aftermarket availability and quality gets too inconsistent for us at times.

Jeep panels plus is the way to go, I agree that the oversees replacement parts are inconsistent, but jeep panels plus makes all there own stuff and the quality is very good.

What kind of heater is hidden under the dash? It isn't stock, but if it works, use it.

As far as floor pans go a stop sign or sharp curve ahead works.
But I would be very careful getting them the cops frown on this.

Jeepanelsplus is a great place to get sheetmetal from. Good prices and real good people to deal with.

Another source for floorpans is a member of http://www.ifsja.org , his screen name is GEMOBX. If you do a search there, you'll find lots of information on his pans. I have used them both and they are both excellent.

I think a fellow zone member in Washington state sells floor panels as well.

Real Estate signs are good too, but being aluminum the only way to attach them is screws or rivets.

I have not had any issues with markings in the Chicago area. All mine are on magnetics since the with didn't want them painted on. Usually only use them for local shows and a few other times during the year. Checked with local PD, they had no problem with it, they just didn't want the M16 in the cab all the time.
