Thread: shocks after spring over

    Default shocks after spring over

I did a spring over and shackle flip on my jeep, and to no suprize my shocks are now too short. Right now i am also planning on raising the rear of my jeep another 3 inches or so it sets level bc the rear sets low after the lift. I was wondering what other people did for shocks after this. Do i need to order custom shocks or can i go to a parts store and get some off a shelf?

If you measure the distance between the shock mounts fully compressed and fully extended, you can then go to the parts store and browse the manuals to find a shock that fits. What you don't want is a shock that bottoms out at full compression or limits the suspension travel at full extension as either will destroy the shock.

I did the spring over and shacke flip. just measure upper mount to lower mount with weight on the truck. rancho had the adjustable shock in just the length I needed.
