14.50`s on stock rims

Thats pretty wide for stock rims...I doubt it seriously...

It wouldn't be the way I'd like to spend an afternoon but I bet you could get it done with some patience & work.

It would compromise the carcass profile,the bead seat, contact patch and tire life, and increase tread flex and undersirable handling.

Look on the tire sidewall. It says "SPECIFIED RIM DIMENSIONS" on there somewhere.

It will most likely crown real bad when at pressure, wear prematurely and irregularly, and have a much high chance of failure as all parameters will be out of spec.

On a 1 piece rim I would agree, but this is going on a stock split rim - with an innertube. Will it crown a bit? Yes, but in a 14.5" tire it shouldn't be too bad. And we are talking about Swampers - not like they are an even remotely good highway tire so most of his driving will be off road. Don't care about the bead seat because of the tube. Irregular and premature tire wear are to be expected - these are Swampers!

Bottom line - if these are a great deal and you are using them for dirt/off road driving do it! If you were planning on running a lot of paved roads then skip the Swampers all together and look for a tire of about 11.5" width, max.

I vote with Ronner as long as it's mainly an off road trail rig that's going to be running 15 PSI or less anyway... and the tires are cheap.

For the highway, I'd go another route, lowering the pressure so they don't crown is probably going to amount to a lot of heat build up on long drives, premature failure would be a huge concern.

i had a set of 19.5 wide boggers on a set of 9.75 trailready bead locks and they didnt wear funny. trailready suggested keeping it on a narrower rim because it will be harder for it to pop the bead off. the tired suggested a 12 or 14 inch rim from my memory so i would have to say your good to go. i bought a dually chevy a bunch of years ago that had the stock 6.75" wide dually rims that someone put a set of 35x12.5x16.5 tires on its. run it!
