Thread: torque spec?

    Default torque spec?

Anyone know if there is an actual torque spec for the rear axle hub nut? I have been through the manual and all it says is tighten til wheel binds but I have a 24" breakover bar on it and it keeps spinning.

It was just done by feel then, however if you prefer, from a modern GM manual for an approx sized axle: install inner nut, tigthen to 55'lbs torque, release and retigthen to 0 torque(just kinda snug). Install lock don't move nut any more tight than needed to align lock. Install outer nut and tigthen to 50'lbs.

    Thanks George.
I went with feel on it. It makes a little more than one full revolution before it stops when I spin the tire. Hope it will be good enough.
