10" pipe was used as the bracket body so there would be enough room for the alternator to be accessed. Pipe will spring out when cut with torch and bend back will be needed to achieve original shape. Attach points were shared with PTO mount and upper alternator bracket. This mount is installed with minimal change to the original engine. Only one bolt is increased in length - the upper alternator support bracket.
Bracket is installed first then attach leads & belts to Alt. It will be positioned 3" forward of normal position to ease belt installation. Alternator is then placed in factory hole, mount bolts are then installed. Belt is driven by crank only at this point. I don't know what the water pump can take.
Compressor is out of a 92 V6 pathfinder. Tensioner bracket is from a Sterling sedan V6 British car? (first I've ever seen in the states) Had a serpentine belt - had to change pulley, attach, & tension bolt, taken from a Mazda p/u
I cut the Nissan bracket because I was to lazy to fab my own, and welded it to the pipe. Used twine to ensure alignment, keeping it in the center of all pulleys.
P/S pump can be used as a tensioner. I need the workout.
A/C pack is a rear Toyota sienna 2000 a/c unit. Installed the front heater core in this pack. Welded original heater top housing with plastic welder to keep things air tight. Have not decided on duct route yet. Will post again when installed.
