Thread: Fitting on the trailer

    Default Fitting on the trailer

The tires will be here Tuesday and it got me thinking. Is this going to fit on the trailer now? I have to measure the trailer but with 13 wide swampers I think it is going to hit the fenders. Even with stock rims. I was thinking of making ramps to go over the fenders. Anyone else have this problem?

Yep. With Marsh wheels at 4.5" backspacing, and 13" wide Swampers, it measures out at around 83" wide sidewall to sidewall.

It won't fit on any standard car hauling type trailer unless you build a rail over the fenders and drive on over. Don't try to drive on the fenders. Even though they look pretty strong, they won't like it. Ask me how I know..... A high deck trailer would work fine though. That's my plan in the future.

The last time I hauled mine to NC, I just pulled one of the front tires and swapped it for a stock NDT and rim, and it fit between the fenders on a standard trailer.

I am going to run stock wheels. I have 82 1/4 inch space to fit in. It might be close or I will make the ramps. I like the idea about the spare wheel though.

I have seen several versions of "drive over" fenders or fender guards. The ones that I like the most are complete replacement fenders built to support the load. Stock fenders *will not* like being driven on. I've seen too many pictures of failed attempts to try it myself

With stock wheels you should be able to do it.

I just had a few old stock rims with NDTs laying around so that made it easy enough.

All mounted and it fits just fine. One less thing to worry about and now I can move onto important things. Like putting in a cab mount to stop that slam every time I hit a bump!
